to have a piece of my work among the pages of the Winter edition of Rhythm of the Home which launched in the wee hours this morning.
I had a conversation last night with some friends in a knitting circle about the internet. Our talk mirrored one I often find myself having in my head. Does the internet contribute positively or negatively to my life? To all of our lives? The answer, of course, is both. Like so much offered to us through technology, without self imposed boundaries, our time spent online can become overly dominant in our lives. At best it distracts us from real honest every day life, and at worst it robs us of it.
Today though, as I begin to look through the work of my fellow contributors to Rhythm of the Home, I know its strength for good. The wealth of information, creativity, commitment to living thoughtfully, consideration of the experiences of children, appreciation of a beautiful aesthetic, and celebration of spirit collected in its pages provide an opportunity for bettering our days in big and small ways. Some of my fellow contributors I "know" through their blogs, others I will "meet" today as I begin really reading each piece and visiting the blogs and shops of those whose work appears. To all, I am thankful that they took the time to share a piece of their thoughts, their crafts, their spirit with us all. Today, the old internet glass is most definitely half full. Drink up.

Don't think I ever congratulated you on this. Beautiful work!

I, also, am visiting via ROTH. Beautiful lantern! If I were so inclined to do some basic woodworking, this would definitely top my list. Gorgeous!
