This is our family's thankful journal.
Over dinner we each say something we are thankful for and record it in the journal. I can't tell you how often I see into the future... me sitting with a stack of these books, an enormous box of kleenex, my girls grown and gone, blubbering away over the little things they treasured as they grew.
Me getting more rice and getting pizza and me having olive pizza for dinner. Putting the sprinkler by the side of the pool and sliding in. Carrots. Playing in the rocks. A sugared orange slice. Flies. Playing hide the bobber with Auntie Carolyn. The T-Rex at the Science Museum.
Come November, we jazz it up a little. For this month in addition to recording in our book we'll write our thankfuls on strips of orange, yellow and red construction paper and link them together in a paper chain that hangs in our dining room. By the end of the month the room is literally ringed with all that we are thankful for.
Oh...I'm thievin' this one! :) This is a GREAT idea!
